You know, I have been trying to find time to visit St. George. Around your birthday would actually work out really well for me if you were going to be there. If you know the exact dates you'll be around I'll put in a leave slip as soon as possible and request some vacation time. I'm really excited about it, actually.
However, I'm not excited about your mom. I knew she relapsed, but honestly, I can't think of a thing to say to you that would help. I can give you so-called quotes of hope from various scriptures and texts... I can give you words that ultimately are only worth their weight in meaning... I don't want to do that. Seems so artificial, so not me. They say actions speak louder than words, so forgive me for being quiet, because I'll give you one hell of a hug on your birthday. Might even buy you a beer. You're of age now, right?
